History:
Karaja Hakura, one of if not the largest landmass in Garuna, has always been a dubious locale. Its land is poor, the bug pokemon infestation is massive, and it's constantly humid. And yet people continue to travel through and make a living there. Why is that? It's hard to say.
Some believe that it is due to the fact that ancient kingdoms were once formed upon the swamplands, and though they may be gone, their treasures may yet still be somewhere within the murky abyss. Others believe that nature can be altered, and the land changed to be more suitable for life. Still others find solace in the fog-filled region and its isolation to the rest of the world.
Mikitora Shiann, the newest and youngest ruler of the land, is somewhere in-between on all this. She believes that if the older civilizations could thrive here, so can Karaja Hakura. At the same time, she's had thoughts about relocating, though with the rest of the landmass already claimed it's not an easily-made decision.
Military:
Trained to handle combat in the swamp, these troops are lightly geared, lightly armored (if armored at all) and know the lay of the land. On their home turf, between the thick fog, the overgrowth and the squishing sound of enemy boots in the swamp waters, nothing can hope to get through without sustaining casualties as one by one they are picked off.
On the other hand, they were trained for that specific type of terrain and thus lose several of their greatest advantages on grasslands or other such environments. A Karaja trooper found out of the swamp has to rely on mobility to stay alive, as their light fortification gives them some ability to outrun heavily-armored troops, but gives them little protection in return.
Traveling to:
If you wish to travel to and through Karaja Hakura, remember to pack lightly and avoid dressing in clothes you'd like to keep pristine. Though there are paths specifically made for people to walk along, they still sink the slightest bit into the bog. Traveling off the paths is not recommended, as there's no telling just how much deeper the waters go with each step.
Geography:
Karaja Hakura is a swamp first and foremost. The overgrowth and flooded lands are all over the region. Some places run deeper, others shallow enough to find dry land. Paddy fields are a common sight, as are other crops that grow within these conditions. With the exception of Sickle Island, the entire region is also very humid and warm if not hot throughout the entire year.
