Pasha Mikhaylichenko-Molotov
Age: 40
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Personality: Upon first meeting Pasha, you will find him polite, formal, chivalrous and gentlemanly. He stands or sits with perfect posture, his suits and uniforms are always crisp and clean and his tone of voice is neither too loud nor too soft. His handshake is always perfect as well, never too intimidating or gently held. Some would say he’s the poster child of a perfect gentleman, and that’s what he wishes you to know him as. Those who bother to dig deeper than a handshake will quickly realize otherwise.
He stays polite and formal, but gains a level of indifference and apathy towards everybody around him. He never speaks very much in the first place, but will become next to mute once he grows bored with a certain situation or person. Pasha radiates an eerie sense of calm, as if nothing can perturb him or crack his cold façade, and he keeps a distance from everybody he meets. He greatly dislikes forming any sort of bond beyond friendship with anybody, as he sees people as imperfect things, and he doesn’t like to associate himself with those.
One has to realize that Pasha is fundamentally a selfish person, and his only true loyalty belongs first and foremost to himself only. He tends to not do things that don’t benefit him in any way. This doesn’t mean that he grows standoffish or rude; being so does little to help him. But at the end of the day, it’s Pasha that wants to be holding all the cards. All major decisions are influenced by whether or not he is the one left standing by the end of the day.
Though calm and gentlemanly the majority of the time, all this can quickly give away to violence. He can get quite angry and reckless easily. Especially when presented with a challenge, there will be no hesitation when he breaks a man’s neck. A human life means little to him, especially after having been exposed to much death. This vicious side is very rarely shown, but shows up frequently during battle. As war draws close, he becomes more prone to aggressive outbursts.
History: Pasha was practically born into the Megidovan military; his father was the Megidovan General and his mother a Captain. His parents planned his life before he was even conceived, and they were dead set on his son following that plan. His early life was no walk in the park; as soon as he was able to hold himself upright, he was placed on a Deerling and told to ride. As soon as he could grasp, he was given a knife and told to cut. As soon as he was old enough to understand basic words, he was sat down and trained in war history.
His parents’ severity influenced their child very much; as he grew up, he took little interest in playing with the children or frolicking with the wild Pokemon in the gardens. He preferred to put his nose in a book and study, or at around the age of 9, perhaps practice his knife skills or how well he could shoot a bow from atop a charging Pokemon. All the young Pasha wanted to do was make his parents proud, and the only way to do that was to claw his way up in the Megidovan military.
Pasha earned the rights to his first Pokemon at 10 years old; a young Deerling kept by his mother for when she thought her son was ready for it. The two definitely didn’t see eye to eye however; the young Pokemon was too proud to be ‘owned’ by anybody, and Pasha was too stubborn to fail. Their personalities crashed for years, but hostility between the two began to melt away as they both grew up together. By the time Pasha turned 15, Pokemon and boy were near inseparable. The Deerling was one of the few that he didn’t lash out at, as long ago did the children learn not to play with the General’s son.
When he turned 20, he had already progressed very far. He was the young Megidovan Lieutenant and just below his father, having surpassed his mother already. But still, he wasn’t happy with where he was. He wanted to continue; to make his way towards where his father was. By this time, there were whispers of war between Megidova and Terunda and the King was growing increasingly… Well, increasing insane. Of course this didn’t bother too much, as it had no bearing on how quickly he tore his way through the ranks. His Deerling had by then evolved into a noble Sawsbuck.
Unfortunately, things couldn’t go so well for so long, and when Pasha turned 22 years old, his father passed on. His mother followed a few months afterwards, stricken by grief of her husband’s death. It was no question that Pasha was moved into the role of General after his father. However, the young man was equally stricken by the death of both his parents and for a year, refused to do much for Megidova at all. But war was looming and the countries were all rubbing each other the wrong way, so it wasn’t long before he was back in action. Though his parents were dead, he was still driven by an insatiable need to make them proud.
Taking a walk one day, at 25 years old, he came across something that would change much of his future. A little girl was crawling out of a river, already half drowned and dying. Though bitter, Pasha wasn’t that cold yet, and so rescued her and placed her in the care of the Megidovan infirmary. He thought that was the end of that, but it wasn’t the case. Unfortunately, the girl had lost all memory of what happened and, with nowhere to go and no way to fend for herself, she was unceremoniously unloaded onto the man that had saved her in the first place.
Now, war had just broken out, and Pasha had more pressing matters to deal with than an orphan girl just handed to him. He didn’t give her a name, just called her Devushka, meaning ‘girl’, and left it at that. His last name was known far and wide as the fierce General of Megidova, so he wouldn’t allow any common whelp to take that either. But no matter how badly he treated her, or how much he ignored her, Devushka practically clung to his leg.
He allowed his soldiers to raise her, and she quickly merged into the infantry as if she was mean to be there all along. He paid little attention to the girl he saved, instead turning everything to the war that was quickly broiling.
15 years later, Pasha was a war grizzled veteran with new scars to tell of his endeavors and new challenges to face in the fast changing world. He had quickly realized the king was going insane not too long ago, but it seemed that Megidova was taking care of itself, and so was its army. Though Pasha sometimes worried about the fragile mental state of the ruler, he simply didn’t care much. He continues to run the army with an iron fist, though occasionally he has to wonder if everything is really for the better…

It's good to see an actual war hardened veteran, and a nicely detailed history is always good, so approved.
