The herd leaves him be, not wanting to pick trouble when there is no reason to. However...there is a bit of a familiar sight as he moves forward. A Scizor being helped back up onto its feet, still being awoken by another pokemon. The other pokemon looks at you, then at the scizor, which lets out a short 'Zor'. Realizing the correlation, it stands up and readies itself!A wild Pawniard (36) appeared!

Ah, a very valiant Pokemon attempting to avenge his father's defeat. A noble one deserves to see that which defeated his father. Zolanius tossed a Terunda and out from the finely decorated sphere came Canis, a Houndoom that had some scratches, but is holding up finely.
"Flamethrower!"
Houndoom planted his paws and unleashed a powerful stream of fire at the Pawniard. The first attack has been made.

Having seen that it was fire that had done in its mentor, it saw the Flamethrower coming and dropped prone to pass underneath it. It responded with stomping its foot on the ground and yelling at the Houndoom. It had a great deal to yell about to that pokemon, and the owner, and about the move itself. Needless to say it was absolute torment hearing it all.
The Wild Pawniard used Torment!

"That little guy is agile. Canis, Flamethro-"
He was interrupted when Canis looked back with a concerned whine about the Pawniard's little fit. It did what it was supposed to do. So it was time for a different strategy.
"Smog!"
Canis' maw opened and shot a current of deep-purple smoke at the Pawniard, the cloud at the end of the attack dispersing around the steel Pokemon that would not be harmed, but hopefully bewildered.

The Pawniard raised its arms up in defense, expecting some other form of blast. What it instead got was a smokescreen. Being a steel pokemon, it was unaffected by the poison content of it, though its ability to see through it was definitely anyone's guess. Speaking of anyone's guess, it was such a situation for how the cloud of miasma would affect the two pokemon involved, and whether it gave either a true advantage over the other.

"Canis, is he still in the smoke?"
Canis holds his nose high in the air and takes in the air around it. He can smell the clean armor within the pungent gas swirling around it. Canis gave a nod, and Zolanius nodded back.
"Let's light this place up!"
On cue, Canis fired Flamethrower into the purple smog as it becomes flame itself, the entire cloud lighting up the cave and burning whatever was inside.

Trapped in a flaming mist, it had no real defense against something like that. Thoughts rushed through its head about what to do, how it would do it, how hot this fire was, how much it hurt. It came to a decision, and cleared its mind of any other thoughts. It did as its mentor did: kneel down and accept its fate...and then fell over as the flames hit it.

As the cloud was all used up, the flames dissipated and then Zolanius saw the right moment, Pawniard on the ground, barely conscious. Acting on this opportunity, Zolanius pulled out a fine Terunda Ball.
"Hark! I deem thee worthy to join the ranks of Zolanius Thyre!"
With that, he cast the pokeball outward, in the hopes that Zolanius has a new recruit.

As the ball was tossed, it had leapt up. Its plan was backfiring and it was going to flee, but then it got struck by the ball. It shook and shook and shook and shook and shook and shook and shook until...it stopped. You caught a Pawniard!Level 36 Female Ability: Defiant Personality: Trained from its early years by a Scizor, it learned the ways of honorable combat...though it didn't always follow the regime. Having found its master defeated gave it new resolve. It now strives to be stronger than its master was, to make sure that all that it was taught would not go to waste. Though not afraid to hit below the belt, the pokemon is a true warrior, in body and in personality. Held Item: Starf Berry -Faint Attack -Slash -Metal Claw -Psycho Cut -Scary Face -Torment
