Time to actually get some training done! Here in these electric caverns of luminous ore and energy was Zolanius, the General of Terunda! And he was rather excited. Here in these electric caverns of luminous ore and energy was where some battling was hopefully going to go down. Whether it was against wild Pokemon or a traveler wishing to test their mettle, Zolanius was open to any challenge. What came first? Zolanius wandered and waited...

As if to acknowledge the general's want for a challenge, a series of sparks fly out from the darkness, and a challenger approaches. A wild Magne--There is a gust of wind and a WHOOSH as the Magneton is suddenly struck from behind! It goes flying across the wall and collapses, knocked out cold with a single blow. In its place after the dust clears...A wild Scizor (Lv. 40!) appeared! It challenges you to a fight!

Oh dear... Full throttle right out of the gate, a mighty Steel type has immediately appeared before him. This must be some sort of alpha considering how easily the Magneton was dispatched. But Zolanius wasn't intimidated! "So you want to play? Go, Canis!"
He tossed out a Terunda ball and out came a mighty Houndoom! Ready for battle, this Dark/Fire type has the advantage... maybe. There is only one way to tell! "Canis, use Flamethrower!" Canis opened his maw and from his mouth came a mighty stream of fire, blazing through the cave and right at the Scizor.

The Scizor stands still, its eyes closed, waiting for the attack to move closer. It hasn't moved in the least since the battle started. However, once it can feel the heat of the flames approaching, it spins its arms above its head, creating a cyclone of energy that it then releases through its claws. It cleaves the Flamethrower in twain and continues forward, rapidly approaching the canine.
Scizor used Vacuum Wave!

"Canis!" Vacuum wave was too fast, the equivalent to Mach Punch. Houndoom couldn't dodge, but he didn't really need to. As much as it hurt, Canis showed no signs of weakness. "Canis, stand down." This would prove more difficult than he thought, but it mattered not. Zolanius recalled Canis and tossed out another Terunda ball. Peers had been called out.
"Alright, use Confuse Ray!" Peers' eyes lit up with brilliant colors as a jagged beam shot from his face and at the Scizor.

The Scizor crosses its arms out in a blocking fashion as the beam of light approaches it. This, however, does not help it, as soon the light starts swirling about, dazing the creature.
The wild Scizor is confused!
It's not quite sure what it's blocking against anymore, but it keeps its guard up, its skin glowing with a faint blue energy, then a flash of white across it as its skin takes on the shiny, hard characteristics of iron.
The wild Scizor used Iron Defense!

Zolanius quickly switched Peers back to Canis for his sweet revenge, and Canis still was holding up well from the last attack. Now the Scizor was in trouble. Iron Defense only increases defense, but this was...
"Flamethrower!" With Scizor confused and holding its ground, this flamethower was bound to hit with full force.

The Scizor sees flames coming from all directions, and keeps up its guard, not in a position to think better. As chance would have it, he picked the correct direction, and so the flamethrower hits its crossed claws, and the Scizor begins being pushed back rapidly, its feet scraping along the ground in an attempt to push it back. However, it's not until the move has ended that he finally skids to a stop. Its Iron Defense helped in no way other than the psychological effect, as it manages to stay on its feet.
However, it seems to not be done yet, as it sees the Houndoom that was the source of the flamethrower...all three of them. It dashes along the ground towards its target and slashes!...the air.
Scizor used Slash!...but it failed!

It was close by... Time to go in for the kill. Hopefully though, it won't really die from this. "Thunder Fang!" Canis then showed his teeth, sparking with electricity. At this range, Canis did what any attack dog would do. He pounced and aimed for the neck.

The wild Scizor is confused no more!
Shaking its head as it comes to its senses, the first thing it sees is a houndoom leaping at it, fangs bared. With no room to run and no guarantee that it could block the correct area, it slashes.
The wild Scizor used Slash!
Rather than hitting the dog out of the air like it had hoped, however, he'd reacted too quickly, and the claw, rather than striking the Houndoom over the head, meets its fangs as it slams the claw. An electrical charge running through the insect now, its slash has now inadvertantly turned into a throw, as it finishes the motions of its move and slams the pokemon into the ground. Now realizing what has happened, it starts flailing the claw to try to get it off.

"Hang in there, soldier! You're powerful! Fight on!" Zolanius' cries helped Canis focus, but it was really putting a toll on his body. Any more stress and he'd pass out from the strain. One last thing that might work... "Flamethrower one last time!"
Canis opened his mouth and set the Scizor free, but not before already building up a flame. It blasted at the Scizor and, at this range, had been very concentrated.

It holds its claw, free of the grip, only to immediately get roasted by the flame. With no way in sight of being able to do anything about it, it closes its eyes again, and allows for the inevitable to come. The flames rage, and it falls over, defeated.
The wild Scizor fainted!

Zolanius completely disregarded the fallen Scizor and went to Canis with a potion. He petted the Houndoom with it in hand, and the bumps and cuts began to fade away almost instantly, but not completely. It was enough to get him going again, though, so all was well.
Seeing such a powerful Scizor so soon in this cave... it was a little frightening, and yet it also instilled a sense of exhilaration inside of Zolanius. He recalled Canis and pressed on, determined to gain more levels.

Zolanius sees the herd and examines it from afar. It was more than obvious that the leader notices Zolanius. He slowly backs away and around a corner so he wasn't seen. Out of site, out of mind after all. Hopefully, he won't encounter anything that can ruin the life of the mountains.
