Personality: Karen is a very lazy person. She likes nothing better than relaxing under a tree or taking a nap. While she seems to have no ambition in life, she actually has some not- so- lofty goals. She one day dreams of owning a house, which is a luxury that she has never had. Karen is also very quiet. Its not that she's to shy or just anti- social, she's just more of a listener. She believes strongly in Listening to learn, and sometimes find that people get themselves in trouble for talking to much.

Since Karen looks so appealing to the same gender, she can often find that charming a girl to get her way is useful. She's not a Lesbian, but when you want to spend the night with a roof over your head, seducing the farmer's daughter is the way to go.

Sometimes its bothersome to look so much like a boy, but Karen really doesn't know how to fix this. She has never had any guidance or experience in the world of woman. While she may not necessarily act like a man, she still comes off as one. Even when she is in woman's clothing..... she just seems like a boy in a dress. As such, she finds it easier to just go along with the facade.

History: Karen doesn't know who her parents are. All she ever knew was that she was the bastard child of a prostitute, and left to die in the gutter. As luck would have it, she was saved by a kindly old man. This old man was Angelo Phose, and he named Karen and treated her like his daughter.

Angelo was a traveler, who played music for a living. He taught Karen not only how to play the flute, but the ways of the road. She loved him, and looked up to him both as a father and a mentor. There was one flaw with Angelo, even if it was minor. He had no dealings with women and knew not how to raise one. As such, he dressed Karen in boy's clothes and raised her as one. But he was not stupid. Even if he raised and dressed Karen like a boy, he treated her like a girl.

When Karen was fifteen, Angelo died. He was very old by then, and simply passed away from old age. Still, Karen was devastated. After all, what did she have, that the old man hadn't given her? In his memory, and since she knew how to do nothing else, she decided to keep up his legacy and be a Bard.

But even if Karen wanted to keep his memory alive, she did have her own dreams. Being a traveler, you are always on the move and never stay in the same place for more than a few days. But what Karen wanted, she wanted her own home. Somewhere where she would feel welcomed and knew that she would never have to roam again.

Additional Information: Though it should be obvious.... Karen looks like a boy. Most people think she is a boy, and due to her quiet nature, she never calls them out on it. Its not that she wants to look like a boy, she just does. As such, when she introduces herself, she calls herself "Nat" instead of Karen. Most people assume that her name is Nathan, even though it comes from her middle name.

Karen is also in possession of a Flute, which she knows how to play. She is a Bard after all.
