A new system for avoiding attacks is being implemented starting now. To put it simply, there will be two ways to avoid an incoming attack, both of which can only be done twice per battle...
Dodging: Fairly straightforward. Your Pokemon moves swiftly to avoid an attack that's coming at it.
Countering: This one is also fairly simple. Your Pokemon uses its own attack to block the one coming at it. The only requirement is that it has to be an Offensive attack. No using Thunder Wave to block a Thundershock or anything else along those lines.
As mentioned above, you can use both of those method can be used twice per battle, resulting in a grand total of four avoidances per battle. There's more, though
With this system in place, certain moves will be affected.
Moves in the games that always hit first can be dodged, but not countered. They are as followed;
Aqua Jet Bullet Punch Extremespeed Fake Out (only if used on the first turn) Ice Shard Mach Punch Quick Attack Shadow Sneak Sucker Punch Vaccum Wave
Also, there are moves in the game that never miss the target, unless said target is in the sky or underground/underwater. Those moves can be countered, but not dodged. They are as followed;
Aerial Ace Aura Sphere Feint Attack Magical Leaf Magnet Bomb Shadow Punch Shock Wave Swift Vital Throw
Now...what does all this mean? It's simple. You can now avoid attacks four times per battle. However, let's say the opponent uses Swift, but you'd already used both of you counters, but none of your dodges. Well then, you're S.O.L., since Swift cannot be dodged. As such, this adds another layer of strategy to the battles on here. If there are any questions, PM one of the admins. We may have missed a move or have one on by mistake, where not perfect.
